Charles was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has since never regretted his decision to move West.  While Charles went to Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, his dream was always to live in New Mexico.  Before joining the family law community, Charles clerked at several law firms that practiced general civil law and gained incomparable legal experience in several practice areas.

 

After working in several areas of the law, Charles passed the New Mexico bar exam, was admitted to practice in New Mexico, and practiced at two prestigious family law firms in the Albuquerque area.  Finally, Charles decided to start The Law Office of Charles A. Scott and serve the New Mexico community as a solo practitioner.  

 

Charles’ firm is exclusively a family law firm.  Charles firmly believes that his purpose in life is to help families navigate the difficult process of family law.  He knows that family law issues can be the most difficult time in a person’s life: whether a client is getting a divorce, dealing with child custody, child support, or other matters; family issues are undoubtedly stressful, and Charles is here to help you every step of the way with patience, kindness, dedication, and steadfast advocacy.  

 

Charles’ personal style is to aggressively represent his client’s interests and advocate for their positions and rights.  At the same time, Charles also realizes that in certain cases, a settlement-based approach may be necessary.  Because Charles is a solo practitioner, he honors relationships with his clients and always returns phone calls and emails in a timely manner.  Choosing the right lawyer is extremely important, and at The Law Office of Charles A. Scott, Charles is a steadfast advocate, a voice for the unheard and always handles his cases with professionalism, friendliness, and courtesy.

 

Charles’ interests include hiking, tennis, skiing, kayaking, sociology of the family, political science, hanging out with his Miniature Schnauzer, Wendy, and traveling the world.
